Advantages of new build homes

We are about to buy our second home, and as the family is extending, we are looking at the option of new build homes.

A new build home requires virtually no work before you move in – most of the walls are neutrally decorated, and the houses are built for families, so you have good sized rooms, a good amount of bedrooms, toilets upstairs and downstairs and with extra bathrooms.

Almost all the houses have good sized, family friendly gardens, so there really is nothing much to complain about.

If you are looking for character though, that is somehting some of these properties lack in – they tend to be clones of the other houses around them.

Saving Space at Home with Lotfladders

Loftladders are a great and compact way to save space at home. Use your loft for storage space or even an extra room. If you have to have the stairs or ladders to the loft constantly out they can be unsightly and also a potential hazard.

There are lots of loft ladder options available to suit all homes, lofts and budgets. For example, some ladders collapse concertina-style. Others fold or can be slid quickly and easily up into the loft.

Dont worry about the size and shape of your room or loft. Off-the-shelf ladders are available as well as ones which are made to measure.

Using Boric Acid to Treat a Termite Problem

Termites are a problem in many homes across the world. It is important, if you have a termite problem, that you deal with it as quickly as you can, since in the long term, these insects can interfere with the structural integrity of your home and cause serious, not to mention expensive, damage to your property.

Perhaps the most popular and environmentally friendly method of Traitement Termites is boric acid, and using it is relatively simple. You will need, first of all, to walk the perimeter of your property and stake out the areas that have been most damaged by termites.

Having done this, you will need to buy or find several pieces of wood – as many as the number of affected areas in home – and some boric acid. Simply sprinkle the boric acid onto the piece of wood and bury it in the vicinity of the damage.

Repeat this process for every damaged place. Remember to mark where the wood has been buried, and after a few days, dig it up and add more boric acid. Eventually, the termites will take the acid back to their colonies, where it will kill many of them and rid you of your termite problem.

This is a simple, environmentally sound method of dealing with a termite problem. However, if after having taken these measures, the infestation persists, it will be necessary for you to call an exterminator.

When in Spain, look for tratamiento madera for wood treatment

I own a villa in Spain, but recently I had to look for help with woodworm. I was told to find tratamiento madera on the Internet. It was the Spanish phrase for wood treatment, and it was easy to locate. Thankfully, the fellow I found spoke very good English when I called him on the telephone.

The particular problem I had was in my garage, and I really wanted it to be sorted before it got out of control. I don’t rent the property out to anyone, and I only visit three times a year, so I was very glad to have noticed it before it managed to worsen. It will be another five months before I go out there again.

I have kept the telephone number for the tratamiento madera man now, so if any further complications happen I know I can contact him in a hurry. He was very professional and didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.

Are house sale prices about to explode?

After a year or two in the doldrums, the slow climb out of recession is beginning to have an effect on house sale prices. The market has been in a vacuum-like state for some time now, with little or no activity in many areas, but as things start to improve, there is likely to be plenty of activity soon.

Many thousands of people had abandoned any plans to move home, but will now be looking at the prospect again with renewed confidence. The chances are that estate agents, mortgage advisors and lenders will be extremely busy in the coming years.
